Craig Williams will ride Buckaroo in the Melbourne Cup.
It was confirmed on Wednesday morning the Cox Plate runner-up would be taking his place at Flemington next Tuesday.
And Williams has taken the ride.
Buckaroo finished ninth as favourite in last year’s edition of the race.
He faded over the final stages after making a wide sweeping run for Joao Moreira from barrier 20.
At the time of writing, Buckaroo was listed at $9 to win the Melbourne Cup next Tuesday.
