Group 1 star Mr Brightside will begin to ramp up his spring preparations with a jumpout at Flemington on Friday.
The two-time Group 1 winner, who won the Doncaster and All-Star Mile last preparation, left Lindsay Park’s Euroa base for Flemington last week.
JD Hayes confirmed the initial plan would be to race Mr Brightside predominantly in Victoria with a first-up assignment in the PB Lawrence next month likely.
“He is coming to hand really lovely. Really looking forward to seeing how he keeps progressing throughout this preparation,” Hayes said.
“We are really happy with him. He is going to have two jumpouts before he goes (to the races).
“The first one will be to blow the cobwebs out. The second will be a more serious one.
“He will kick off in the same race as last year, the PB Lawrence.”
