Today I’m riding at Cranbourne. The rail is out 9 metres and the track is rated in the soft range.
Race 3 is the Designer Coolrooms Maiden Plate over 1300 metres. My ride here is BEWITCHINGLY who is trained by Anthony & Sam Freedman. This three-year-old filly by I Am Invincible was purchased for $1.1 million from the 2020 Inglis Easter Sale by Tom Magnier. I rode her when she made her debut at Geelong last month starting favourite over 1150 metres. She drew a wide barrier on that day and was ridden back in the field in what was a slowly run race. I ended getting caught up with no room and felt that with clear running she would have won the race, instead finishing fifth and only 1.45 lengths from the winner. She has drawn more favourably today and will start from a low barrier draw which will give her every opportunity to take up a position in running. I’ve been waiting for this filly to run again and if she lives up to my expectations, she should be too good for these.
