Craig Williams extended his lead in the Melbourne Jockeys premiership after riding three winners at Mornington on Monday.

The 41-year-old jockey guided Fight ($2.50 favourite) and Infallybelle ($6) to maiden victories before registering his second city win within three months aboard the Doug Harrison-trained Search Squad ($19).

The treble meant Williams has ridden 70 winners in Melbourne this season, placing him 15 victories clear of his nearest premiership rival Damien Oliver.

Between them, Williams (seven) and Oliver (10) have won the Melbourne title a remarkable 17 times.
