Racegoers didn’t miss the opportunity to meet Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Craig Williams at Caulfield on Boxing Day.
Williams, 42, happily signed autographs and posed for photos with the Melbourne Cup by his side, many of them for young children, providing them with a memento from the occasion Australia reclaimed the Cup courtesy of the Danny O’Brien-trained Vow And Declare.
“As the father of four children, I understand the challenge of getting the next generation involved,” Williams said.
“It just shows the love and affection we have with our horses. We’re only participants, the stars are the horses and we’re lucky to be the ones riding them.”
